EcoFique visited Wageningen University & Research
EcoFique visited the Wageningen University & Research Institute to meet the business unit manager of Agrosystems Research; Dr. ir. R.E.E. Jongschaap.
During our first meeting we spoke extensively about the project we are setting up with the Fique plantation and processing plant in Colombia.
We explained our process in which we go much further than traditional harvest techniques to process the valuable waste materials from our organic Fique plantation to high-quality, vegetal plant-based fertilizers, fungicides and nematicides.
Dr. Jongschaap showed his interest in our Fique cultivation project and was pleasantly surprised to hear about the interesting claims on the qualities and potentials of the Fique elements.
Raymond indicated that our activities and the associated possibilities with the Fique plant were new to him and that he would certainly be willing to talk with colleagues from other departments specialized in tropical plants, their processing and the mode of action of their inherent elements, to provide a scientific base to the afore mentioned claims, or contribute in any other way to the value creation of EcoFique.
Future cooperation with the Wageningen University & Research Institute and the business unit Agro systems Research, or with other departments within WUR have become more tangible for relevant research questions or explorations in our sector.
We are pleased to have a direct entry point at Wageningen UR and other mainly Colombian Universities to learn more about our project and the exceptional results which can be studied about organic Fique cultivation for the production of dedicated products derived from the plants parts.
